Lagido Surf House is located on Baleal Island in the peninsula of Peniche (less than
one hour from Lisbon). Baleal Island is separated from the mainland by a causeway,
creating two beautiful beaches, which will host our surf lessons and other activities.
These beaches, due to their location and extent ,have the particularity to offer a bit of
everything, from bathing areas with life guards, to vast dunes of fine white sand
where the waves break with more intensity.
our surf house is the only surf camp located inside Baleal Island; we are right on the
beach so you don’t need a car to go surf. In a range of 400 meters you will find
everything you need: Restaurants, bars, supermarket, cash machines, surf shops,
local handcraft and much more.
our clients can choose between staying in the surf camp or in private apartments.
They can also choose from several services, including: accommodation, equipment
hire, surf lessons and other activities like snorkelling or boat trips. We have always
different options and packs where you can choose what is best for you.
The peninsula of Peniche is called The Wave Capital of Portugal and the reason is
that it offers off-shore winds every day. Peniche has two
coastlines, one facing north, where the waves are easier to surf, and another one
facing south, where the waves are more powerful, like Supertubos or Molho Leste. So
in a range of 10 Km you will find more than 20 waves for all levels of surf... So what

our Surf School is registered in Portugal tourism with the number: 48/2011 and
also in the Portuguese Surf Federation. All of our surf teachers are
licensed by the Portuguese Surf Federation.
